Zero + Maria Cornejo opened in 1998 as a purely retail concept when, prompted by a desire to re-connect with the core of her ideas about design, cutting and garment construction, Chilean-born designer Maria Cornejo transformed a raw space in New York’s Nolita into a very personal store and atelier named Zero.
• Organized, motivated, and armed with a can-do, positive attitude
• Immediate availability for a fall term, a minimum of 3 days per week, 10am-6:30pm
• Only local candidates for our New York City office, please
• Pattern making experience is strongly preferred
• Fashion design or production major
Internships are unpaid but college credit is available.
Interns are eligible for daily lunch stipend.
Full-time interns are eligible for unlimited monthly metrocard.
• Organizing runway samples
• Assembling / organizing materials for fabric R&D Manager and Design team
• Local trim sourcing
• Communicating with factories located in NYC’s garment district
• Coordinating delivery and pick up of materials from vendors and factories
• Attending design fittings
• Working closely with team to prepare cut tickets to factories
• Draping, patternmaking from initial concepts to creating multiple toiles
• work with Development Manager on yielding patterns
• Helping assist Creative Director when needed
