VARYFORM is looking for Chicago Fashion Design Internship
VARYFORM is looking for a talented, motivated student to join our Ravenswood studio in Chicago for the summer.
Our interns gain hands on experience by providing support throughout the design process through fabric and trim sourcing, sketching, creating tech packs, assisting in fittings, photo shoots, and presentations.
Interns benefit from viewing all aspects of the brand and having the chance to develop their design skills and planning of a collection.
This internship is unpaid. A strong focus will be set on training and sharing career guidance.
-A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and enthusiasm are key.
-Ability to research and create strong moodboard concepts in Canva or Adobe Illustrator.
-Ability to communicate design ideas through flats sketching by hand or Adobe Illustrator.
-Professional & punctual
- Must currently live in the Chicago area and willing to come into the studio 1 day per week.
-Must be eligible to receive school credit for this internship.
Recommended but not required:
-Sewing & patternmaking ability
-Previous experience with a designer price point brand (whether in retail or previous internship)
-Coursework in fashion design
Responsibilities:
-Maintaining an organized design office
-Participating in sourcing & design decisions
-Creating Flat Drawings
-Sourcing fabrics/trims
-Fitting assistance
-Communicating with suppliers and factories
-Creating or editing spec sheets/pattern tickets
