Description:TEMILY, a newly launched luxury womenswear brand, is seeking a part-time Design & Development intern in NYC for a 3-6 month paid internship ($15/hour plus metro travel reimbursement). The role is suitable for 3rd/4th year fashion students or recent grads interested in the luxury RTW lifecycle, from development to manufacturing.

- NYC based
- Availability of 3 days per week
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to create accurate flats / 2D technical drawings
- Proficient in Google Suite including Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.
- Skilled in Photoshop for collection layouts, mock-ups, image editing, etc.
- Ability to create, layout and update/finesse simple deck-based presentations
You need to have some demonstrated experience in honing skills in at least one key area of fashion, whether that’s design (technical, illustration, etc.) development (such as pattern making) or manufacturing/production/supply chain. This needs to be clearly communicated in your application.
You also need to show that you have a genuine interest in, and affinity for, the process of crafting and making luxury garments, which require an exceptional level of accuracy and attention to detail.
This is a great opportunity to be 'on the tools' with a small, talented but highly experienced team building a NYC-based luxury fashion brand from the very beginning. You get to meet, work alongside and develop relationships with some of the most accomplished and lauded makers, factories, artisans and creative in the industry - from navigating NYC’s garment district through to Italian hardware suppliers, artisanal fabric mills and sample makers whose work appears on global red carpets.
Responsibilities:Some of the things you'll be working across and helping with support on include;
- Creating + updating BOMs, tech packs, spec sheets, cut tickets, etc.
- Sourcing + purchasing trims and materials in the Garment District
- Calculating fabric consumption + yield
- Helping with information management on pattern revisions and development fittings (taking accurate notes, visually documenting through photos + video, organizing + updating details into files, sending through follow up notes to makers, etc)
- Organizing fabric swatches and cuttings, lab dips, reference materials, etc.
- Inventory management of trims, hardware, labels, sampling + production fabrics
- Liaising with suppliers, vendors, sample rooms and makers on back + forth details with development, sampling, pre-production and manufacturing processes
- Fittings
- Collection planning and range development
- Live critical path development and management to ensure collection timings stay on track
