The Men’s Design team at Prabal Gurung is looking for Pre-fall and Fall Design Interns to assist with the upcoming Pre-Fall 2019 Menswear collection starting ASAP to the second week of December and potentially extend to Fall 2019 collection ending on the second week of February 2019. This is a unique hands-on opportunity to work closely with the head of menswear and a small design team. Candidates must submit a resume and portfolio/ website of relevant design projects. Candidates must commit to a minimum of 3 days per week, and at least 2 of the days are consecutive. A great opportunity to assist in the elaboration and development of this new menswear concept.
A focus on quality and innovation has placed Gurung at the forefront of American fashion with designs worn by leading ladies including First Lady Michelle Obama and The Duchess of Cambridge, to name a few. Notable accolades include the 2010 Ecco Domani Fashion Fund Award, 2010 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund runner up, USA Network’s Character Approved Award recipient in 2011, named goodwill ambassador of Maiti Nepal, a finalist of the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award, recipient of the 2011 CFDA Swarovski Award for Womenswear and was honored in 2015 with the inaugural Creativity Award from The Drawing Center. Gurung was the official 2013 designer collaborator for Target, launched a product collaboration with MAC Cosmetics in 2014, and collaborated on a collection with TOMS to support Shikshya Foundation Nepal in 2016. Gurung will be launching a capsule with Lane Bryant in March 2017 and most recently has been named the global creative director of TASAKI fine jewelry.

- Maintaining and updating design boards and files
- Technical flat sketching
- Assist head of menswear design team in fittings
- Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop work
- Hand sewing (labels, buttons etc)
- Assisting with tech packs
- Archiving swatches, fabric and trim
- Create and execute innovative design concepts to fill
- Ensure product is consistent with market trends while maintaining the brand integrity
- Oversees aesthetic development of graphic, trim, and textile design
- Ensure that we have complete Tech packs for every style including fabric, trim, details, etc
