Oscar de la Renta is one of the leading fashion houses in the industry. The fur collection features the most exquisite pieces each season. The partnership with Reich Furs and Oscar de la Renta creates the highest quality and most innovative fur garments in the fur industry. This internship focuses solely on the design and production processes of fur and leather materials in the modern age.
- Strong patternmaking understanding
- Strong sense of color and textile for sourcing
- Interest in luxury/couture techniques
- Hand sewing abilities
- Go-getter, "no job too small" mentality
- Knowledge of the garment district is a plus
Responsibilities are, but not limited to:
- Assisting the head and assistant fur designer in everyday tasks
- Assisting the patternmaker with alterations, copying, and artwork
- Assisting the finishers and seamstresses in hand sewing, machine stitching, and cleaning/preparing pieces for delivery
- Sourcing trims, fabrics, and notions in the garment district
- Managing studio organization and upkeep
