This is an integral position that has opportunity to directly transition into other facets of the business including but not limited to marketing, operations, buying, merchandising and production support. The Avenue is a female-led business that has led the market in online retail with distinctive content creation, cutting edge marketing strategies and a unique platform highlighting other small businesses, artisans and creatives around the world. We are a bootstrapped company based in the Houston area. Within a few fast-paced years, we've built a multi-million dollar brand with 15 full-time employees.
As a seasonal Fulfillment Associate hire, this position is structured within our standard protocol for all new employees to begin their Avenue experience in the warehouse to train and learn within this key pillar of the business should you wish to pursue other opportunities within the company. Talents, skill sets and work ethic will be assessed to place new hires into other departments in 2022 should the business's needs and the candidate's skill sets align. This is a hands-on, full-time role that requires the candidate to be located or in commute distance to central Houston, Texas. Experience is preferred but not mandatory to apply. We are looking to fill this role ASAP.

The Fulfillment Associate will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of our fulfillment center in central Houston including but not limited to packaging and shipping product, receiving product, ordering essential materials and supplies, monitoring inventory, ensuring quality control and order accuracy. The associates are responsible for a working knowledge of all processes, products and procedures to achieve and maintain 100% accuracy with inventory with outbound and inbound orders. The associates will report directly to the Fulfillment Manager and work alongside other associates to support the overall mission of excellent customer service and implementing best practices to create efficient procedures and an optimized shipping department. This position is being added due to exponential top line revenue in the last twelve months with an initiative to obtain new talent for the growth expectations in 2022. The right person will make a big impact on the company as they architect scalable fulfillment processes and support order growth. Seeking an associate with an operations and strategic mindset. Understands and respects sense of urgency in conjunction with order accuracy and the exceptional customer experience standard of the brand.
Understands the busy nature and overtime required for the fourth quarter and holiday season. Strong communication skills.
High attention to detail. Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities. Fulfillment associates are expected to report to the warehouse Monday through Friday for an 8-hour day. Expect overtime over the fourth quarter for the busy season, which will be compensated.
Responsibilities:Understands the busy nature and overtime required for the fourth quarter and holiday season. Strong communication skills.
High attention to detail. Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities. Fulfillment associates are expected to report to the warehouse Monday through Friday for an 8-hour day. Expect overtime over the fourth quarter for the busy season, which will be compensated.
Executing on the daily fulfillment tasks: the pull, packing, printing & shipping product of product to ensure our delivery standards are met in a timely and correct fashion.
Audits each shipment prior to packing to ensure that the goods match the client's order.
Packs and labels product based on established standards: gift wrap, thank you notes, gift notes, tissue paper, gift cards, dropship materials, etcetera.
Oversee and execute the receipt of product: inspecting quality, receiving transfers, ensuring proper count to various inventory locations and matching product receipt with purchase orders.
Communicating shortages on essential packaging materials and supplies to ensure the facility maintains proper levels.
Ensuring quality control of all in and outbound goods.
Identify opportunities to streamline and improve (i.e., quality, speed) our fulfillment processes
Maintaining a working knowledge of all processes, products and procedures to achieve and maintain 100% accuracy with inventory with outbound and inbound orders.
Maintain a positive working culture at the fulfillment center and develop the staff to perform to highest potential.
Study the existing processes and warehouse procedures and propose strategies to optimize and streamline the operation.
Provide feedback to manager with respect to cogs in workflow and metrics for the manager, Lyndsey and leadership to assess and track performance and flow. Support the implementation of a scanning system for higher inventory accuracy and increase fulfillment center efficiencies. Assist dropship team in providing brand partners with in-house shipping materials to replicate the Avenue experience for all onboarded brands. Have a strong working understanding of Shopify and its functionalities as it relates to fulfillment and site communication with the customers.
