New York based designer, Jenny Yoo launched her first collection in 2002. Jenny’s clear vision and motivation for redefining today’s bridesmaids has driven her company’s rapid success in the bridal industry. Her modern yet elegant designs emphasize her philosophy that one must evolve with the footsteps of today’s changing times.
Jenny Yoo Collection bridal gowns and bridesmaids dresses can be found in over 150 select salons in the Unites States and internationally, as well as through premium retailers like BHLDN and Nordstrom.
ABOUT THE DESIGN INTERNSHIP:
Jenny Yoo Collection is currently looking for talented and motivated Design interns for the summer 2019 semester. The ideal candidate must possess high attention to detail, be extremely organized, and able to take initiative while working in a fast paced environment. This is a perfect opportunity and incredible learning experience for those who are interested in the fashion Industry.
Requirements:- Proficient in sketching and machine and hand sewing
- Understanding of basic fabric terminology
- Basic knowledge of pattern making and draping
- Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism in an office environment
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator) and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
- Able to commit to interning two full days per week (Preferably Thursdays & Fridays)
Responsibilities:- Assist in creating and maintaining mood and style development boards
- Research trends and colors
- Photograph new development samples or mock-ups
- Assist in beading, hand sewing, fabric manipulation samples
- Help team to prepare for meetings with vendors and buyers
- Assist in ordering, receiving, and keeping record of development fabrics
- Sourcing fabrics, trims, and notions in the local market
- Learn to communicate and develop relationships with fabric vendors and factories
- Swatch and create fabric hangers
- Technical flat sketching or Photoshop CADs when needed
- Depending on scheduling, interns may shadow the Design Team during sketch presentations, fittings, style-outs, or fabric development meetings
- Attend textile and print shows depending on scheduling
