The daily job activities include but are not limited to:
• Assisting our merchandising team with unpacking and arranging samples
• Data entry to create our pricing architecture
• Creating sales tools such as line sheets and visual mapping charts
• Photographing and tagging samples
• Administrative tasks such as photocopying, running errands and organizing handouts
• Participating in market appointments and assisting at market receptions
• Performing showroom upkeep (visual merchandising)
• At the end of the process, breaking down the showrooms and assisting with the disposition of samples (some heavy lifting of mannequins and moving of showrooms tables and fixtures)
Strong Microsoft Office skills are a must (particularly in Excel where pivot tables and v-lookups could be used extensively) as is a strong knowledge of PowerPoint and an attention to detail.
Job Qualifications/remuneration:
Our preferred candidates should have previous experience or classwork in wholesale or retail and we are particularly interested in those with a background or interest in merchandising.
This position pays $15/ hour and you will be brought in as an employee with a freelance agency.
Candidates must have a positive attitude when working with others and commit to the entire time period. There are three time periods:
1. Two people working from January 8 to February 8.
2. Two people working from January 24 to February 8.
3. Two people working from January 30 to February 8.
We do preference current or former Gap Inc. employees. However, for those candidates who are currently store employees, you must confirm availability with your General Manager before applying. Also note that you would be paid your current in-store hourly rate.
Hours:
Hours are generally 10AM-6PM but can vary depending on each day's workload.
