Clothing is one of the greatest means of self-expression. Brooke Burch is a custom sewing and alterations-based business located in Rochester, MN. This year I plan to create an alternative clothing boutique while expanding my existing business. I offer alteration services and I make all types of clothing and home goods. I currently offer introductory and intermediate level sewing lessons. I have daily fittings and meetings with clients. I do the majority of my advertising online and by referral. This business is growing fast and it would be a great opportunity to see what it really takes to run a business on your own. My job is sewing intensive and fast paced. If you are organized, enjoy the technical aspects of clothing design and adapt to change quickly, this is the place for you to be.
Requirements:INTERN EXPECTATIONS
- Must be an Apparel Design and/or an Apparel Development major.
- Must be at Junior or Senior level in your studies.
- Must be proficient in sewing.
- Must learn quickly and have an interest in starting your own business.
Responsibilities:- Must be an Apparel Design and/or an Apparel Development major.
- Must be at Junior or Senior level in your studies.

INTERN RESPONSIBILITIES
Task may include and are not limited to:
- Patterning & pattern alteration.
- Pattern layout & cutting.
- Creating sewn samples for various projects.
- Basic sewing of clothing, accessories, & home goods.
* The intern will have a chance to complete daywear alterations and be present for fittings. There will also be opportunities for design. This will be a sewing and pattern intensive internship.
INTERNSHIP SCHEDULE
- Stipend: A total of $200.00. This payment will be distributed quarterly throughout the duration of the internship.
- 180+ hours for 8 - 10 weeks (or your institution requirements)
* We can break the time up accordingly if needed and generate a customized schedule.
